Tulia Cooking Festival 2024, an initiative designed to promote nutrition awareness, healthy cooking practices, and community economic empowerment.
Tulia Trust, through its Community Assistance Programme, successfully hosted the Tulia Cooking Festival 2024, an initiative designed to promote nutrition awareness, healthy cooking practices, and community economic empowerment.
Organized in collaboration with national and regional partners—including the Ministry of Health, ORXY GAS, and PBZ Bank—the festival received strong support from government leaders. The event was officiated by Hon. Judith Kapinga, Member of Parliament for Special Seats, on behalf of the Mbeya Regional Commissioner.
Held from 27–31 August 2024 at Ruanda Nzowe Grounds in Mbeya, the five-day festival brought together participants from 36 wards across the region. More than 1,000 women took part in cooking competitions and training sessions, while over 2,000 community members attended exhibitions and nutrition education activities.
The festival provided a platform for women and youth entrepreneurs, food vendors, and nutrition officers to showcase skills, share knowledge, and promote the use of locally available foods. Through this initiative, Tulia Trust reaffirmed its commitment to improving household nutrition and strengthening livelihoods across communities.
