COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE IN MWAKIBETE - 2024

On February 23, 2024, Dr. Tulia Ackson, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Speaker of the Tanzanian Parliament, and Member of Parliament for Mbeya Urban, inaugurated and handed over a house to visually impaired Hosea Kalemale in Mbeya City. Hundreds of citizens witnessed the event, praying for Dr. Tulia's long life as she selflessly aids the needy. Dr. Tulia fulfilled her promise to Hosea by providing a two-bedroom house with a living room and toilet. She assured continued assistance beyond politics, emphasizing her dedication to helping Tanzanians.

Hosea Kalumelu, a visually impaired resident, received a two-bedroom house from Dr. Ackson, fulfilling a promise made in response to his request. Dr. Tulia emphasized the need for collective support for her initiatives, which have included housing, accommodation, and food aid.

This marked the ninth house provided by the Tulia Trust. Dr. Tulia expressed her ongoing commitment to helping the needy, recognizing the persistent presence of poverty despite societal progress. Joshua Edward, Communications Officer for the Tulia Trust, stated that nine houses had been provided to the needy and elderly in Mbeya. Chief Rocket Mwashinga of Mbeya praised Dr. Tulia's comprehensive approach to community development, noting her contributions across various sectors.
