The President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Speaker of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, and the Member of Parliament for the Mbeya City constituency, Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson, recently met with 3,000 students from all wards of Mbeya City. During this event, held in Kabwe, Mbeya, on January 22, 2024, Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson presented exercise books and school uniforms to the students.

Additionally, on the same day, the inauguration of a textile factory in Uhindini area of Mbeya City was successfully conducted. The factory, launched by Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson, is equipped to produce a variety of textile products, including blankets, bed sheets, scarves, towels, table mats, and curtains. Notably, the factory aims to empower people with disabilities as the main producers.
